World Trigger Chapter 251 Spoilers: Shiki Sayoko

This article will contain my thoughts, including spoilers, on the content of the latest World Trigger chapter 251, which was published in the May issue of Jump Square.

World Trigger chapter 251 began with Sayoko starting to talk about her out-of-body experience. When Sayoko closes her eyes, she enters a state where she can only see with her right eye, and a ghost with only a right eye detaches from her, allowing her to move around freely. Sayoko demonstrated this out-of-body experience on the spot, accurately saying that Utagawa was slicing carrots thinly and Urushima was frying chicken. However, it seems Sayoko’s out-of-body experience isn’t all-powerful, as she says she can’t pass through walls, fly, move quickly, or move objects.

Sayoko says, ‘You wouldn’t believe something like this, would you?’ but Yuma immediately replies, ‘I do believe you,’ and from there, Sayoko’s flashback to her elementary school days begins. It seems Sayoko had this out-of-body experience ability since she was in elementary school, and when she told her classmates about it, they called her a liar. Well, that’s understandable. Most people don’t believe in those who can do what they can’t, and they dismiss what they don’t understand, and there are fewer people with a broad perspective who try to understand and empathize, and that’s probably the case even for elementary school students. In that regard, I feel that Yuma, perhaps because he’s a Neighbor, has a very low emotional barrier and a high level of understanding

In her elementary school class, Sayoko is being blamed by everyone. Then, her homeroom teacher tells her the location of their apartment room on the first floor of their apartment building, which is visible from the classroom window, and asks her to guess what they’re having for dinner that night. Sayoko says she understands and agrees to do it.

And that night… The teacher is eating dinner at home, and Sayoko’s out-of-body doppelganger is watching that scene closely.

The next day… Sayoko correctly guesses that the teacher’s dinner last night was spaghetti with tomato sauce, and that they were eating it with a long-haired person.

However, the speechless teacher… In reality, the person he was with wasn’t his wife but another woman, and his real wife was at her parents’ home for childbirth. Due to adult circumstances, the teacher couldn’t admit that what Sayoko said was true, and instead called her a liar. This is terrible! He initially decided she was lying, had her guess his dinner, and when she got it right, even things he wanted to hide were revealed, and then he called Sayoko a liar. He’s a truly bad adult.

The teacher was apparently transferred soon after, but Sayoko suffered deep emotional scars and, since then, she hasn’t been able to talk well with older men. Yuma and the others listening said that Sayoko wasn’t to blame for that…

Yuma, who was listening, naturally called Sayoko’s out-of-body experience a Side Effect, and praised it highly, saying it seemed incredibly useful. He analyzed that Sayoko’s Side Effect might be something like using her physical body to perceive light at the end of a thin Trion line extended along the ground.

Then Yuma said that she should tell someone important if possible. He gave her the highest compliments, saying that those important people would be grateful for the added abilities and that it would definitely be useful in defense missions and so on. While they were talking, it seemed Utagawa Squad 1, who had opened the refrigerator, had finished preparing the meal.

And in Kodera Squad 6…

It seems that Kodera Squad Leader also successfully repaired the refrigerator, avoiding the Trion depletion crisis.

Rokuta and Kitora seem to be preparing dinner for today… Having finished one task, Kodera Squad Leader is already thinking about tomorrow.

Then the scene shifts to Mizukami Squad Number 9… Mizukami Squad Number 9 was talking about how they were provisionally ranked 1st in the closed environment test, and that unless there are any major irregularities, they seem likely to hold onto that position.

However, they are wary of the abnormal scoring in the distributed tasks, such as Wakamura Squad Number 11 gaining 800 points in one day. This scoring method is unique to the Wakamura squad, relying on Hyuse’s Trion engineering knowledge, but the Mizukami squad, unaware of Hyuse’s knowledge, finds it unsettling.

However, Captain Mizukami himself isn’t marking the Wakamura squad…

Just as they were about to start eating after escaping the refrigerator mystery, World Trigger chapter 251 ended with Captain Mizukami making a proposal to his squad members.

What did Captain Mizukami notice?
Is he wary of the rapid rise of Suwa Squad Number 7, who are currently in 2nd place?
That concludes our introduction in this article.
